So….. I’m sitting in my hammock with my laptop – actually shivering a bit because it’s on the chilly side, and I’m reflecting on my last post and my evening with friends…
Some posts are more popular than others. They may get read, but they don’t always go over well. And I’m okay with that. What I write isn’t for a popularity contest. And if I said I didn’t pause before I hit “Publish” button sometimes, then I’d be lying! There are times I go back and read and re-read posts even AFTER I post them to see if they were way off base. And the bottom line is I can’t change how I feel! And I can’t change what people HEAR when they read what I wrote!
There have been so many times I have gotten private messages from people who think my message was about them!
And the truth is…. more often than not, it had NOTHING to do with them on any level! But they SAW themselves in what I wrote and figured that it was all ABOUT them!!!
I totally get this, because when I read stuff, I reflect on it at a personal level and can’t help but think of myself when I read a story!
It’s human nature!
IF you find something in yourself that you see in my writings, then it is YOU who have homework to do to figure out what it is!
And IF you want to blame ME…. then go for it! I’m okay with it!
I think it’s important to reflect! THAT is how we grow!
Just tonight I was reminded how much we need each other as a human species. I was talking to friends; and over the course of the conversation, I learned about Me and I learned about THEM. And guess what…… you may find this a shock, but we ALL have issues somewhere in our lives that need attending to!
And the only way to get out of it is to acknowledge it and move forward in a way that brings positive change!!!
I don’t know why we are all so afraid of the truth. But we are!
The truth is really scary sometimes, because it’s hard to fathom how to go forward!
But I heard that if you know where you WANT to go, it’s easier to get there! AND…I heard, if you start with the GOAL in mind and work backwards, you can actually make a PATH for yourself to get to where you want to go!!!
WHAT A CONCEPT!!! A means to an end!
I really like the sound of that! And if you think about it, it really makes sense! SO lets start there!
WHERE do you want to be when all is said and done? AND IF you can visualize the ending, then how can you take the steps to get there?
It really is possible if you break it down. But if you are like ME, then you are looking at it like one big ball of goo and it’s an impossible task. HOWEVER… it doesn’t HAVE to be! Just work on chunking it down a bit until you can see the bits and pieces of tasks that make the whole process do-able.
Blame whoever you want in the process, but for Gods sake, just get the job done!!! In the end, you will look back and take full credit!!
