Funny how one good choice begets another!

Yesterday I made a pact with myself to do 5 things towards my goal of losing a few pounds. First order of business was to work out!  So I did!!  And I felt really good….and really out of shape.

I came from a place of working out FIVE days a week.  Granted, it was a few years ago, but it helped me to lose 50lbs.  After I lost the 50lbs, I joined Weight Watchers as a leader (as they had helped me lose my weight!)

It was so great to help others lose weight and become healthy.  I worked there and maintained my weight loss for quite a few years.  Sadly, my problems started when I started working there.  As my shifts were first thing in the morning, my ‘old’ 5 day a week workout routine took a back seat.  But I was still eating well and being “active” so I was able to keep most of it off, for at least a few years.

Last summer, I had to take a personal leave.  My stress level was high and I realized that my taking care of others was coming at a cost to me.

Guess what happened…….?

In the last year I have put on about 10 lbs and because my job is a lot of sitting at the desk, editing…. my body has become soft.  So, to get back to where I was a few years ago will be quite the struggle.  I’m totally OUT of my workout routine and I have to start all over.

So yesterday was a big feat for me!

After I worked out, I made sure to have a good lunch, and my choices throughout the day were better!!

Today I’m going for day two.  I will drop the kids at the studio and head over to the gym on the way home.

I’m hoping to get back into that routine that brought me to my original goal.

One thing I realized about myself this last year is that I kind of sold myself short.  I didn’t believe I could achieve more than I did, and therefore I stopped at the high end of my range.

I do that a lot….. sell myself short.  What’s up with that?

There are days I feel like I’m constantly talking myself up, trying to dig myself out.  It’s a total pattern that I really hate.  I used to think I would outgrow all that, but the truth is, it’s a daily thing!!  Okay, maybe not EVERY day….. but a lot of them!

I need to start doing more positive things and making myself feel more accomplished.  Soon enough good will beget good… as long as I’m consistent!

So here’s to day two of getting back on track.  A wimpy workout is better than no workout at all.  And I have my fridge stocked with fruits and veggies.  That’s two of the five things I need to get done today.

Let’s get this day started!
Happy Wednesday!
