Well, I just kind of woke up. Superbowl was kind of a snoozer. I think the Ravens won, but I fell asleep!
It was a super mellow day; one we don’t get very often. Aspen is still sick so we did nothing with a capital “N”.
We had to cancel our Superbowl party, but Avery still insisted on the chili. So Chris bought everything and we had a great lunch and dinner (yes; both chili).
I bought some blueberries to make lemon-blueberry cupcakes and even though no one was coming over, I still had the ingredients, so I threw them together. I didn’t have to worry about being stuck with them all because I had some takers on bringing some home. . . or coming by and picking them up as it were!!
If you wonder why I bake; it relieves stress. If you wonder why I continue to bake, it’s because I have many friends compliment me and drive to my house to pick up what I bake. It’s nice, because it gets it out of the house so I don’t eat it all, and it makes others happy as well. Kind of a win/win.
I even had someone today suggest I open a bake shop. That is a nice affirmation.
Our moms came over to hang for a bit for Superbowl and they each enjoyed a cupcake. Aspen in all her illness had two, and I tried one just to make sure it wasn’t poison. Not bad.
As we watched Superbowl, we were really getting into it until the power outage! You would think that millions of people watching would create an environment where this was near impossible, but that wasn’t the case. As we are not regular sports watchers; this half hour guffaw kind of blew our interest. It became more fun checking out Facebook for the commentary.
Toward the end of the game, I dozed off. Just woke up a few minutes ago. Just long enough to head up to bed.
Like I said, it was a lazy day and I am glad we were able to take advantage of it. Hopefully Aspen’s fever will break. She’s been at least 99 degree for the last few days; going up as high as 103. Nothing worse than watching your baby be helpless and under the weather!!
Tomorrow it’s back to the grindstone. But I’m thankful that we had this day of nothing just to sit and be a family together! A rarity; but most appreciated!
Happy Sunday!
