I’m loving the rain this morning. As I was waking up, I could hear the pounding on the roof and I snuggled deeper into the blankets……until I realized that I am responsible for carpool today. And then I just ducked my head under the covers and tried to hide!!
Yesterday I wrote about divorce. The subject sat with me all day like a weight in my stomach. I pondered much of what I wrote throughout the day and my husband called and made a comment about it too! I’m guessing he was thinking something was up!? But it’s good that he stays on his toes; so maybe my blog is a good thing!
I thought about ways to stay connected and I kept reflecting back to the time we went to San Diego for the weekend! It was literally one night that we spent in the city and it was so nice. We walked around down town and at the seaport village and had a great time. It’s amazing what 24 good hours will do!
He’s since invited me to Vegas; but my schedule and my stress level wouldn’t let it happen. However, he is persistent and as a result, we will be going in March for a lovely night together. I say night, because we got the schedule for our daughters dance and guess what? It falls on that Sunday! And as I am shooting said event, we will have to high tail it back to the city!
There is no rest for the weary, I swear!!! We may leave Friday instead of Saturday; but I guess we’ll see! It’s hard for us to leave the girls, even though they are completely self-sufficient!
When they were younger we felt bad because they were so attached. Nowadays we feel bad, because their schedules are a nightmare!!!
I guess there is just no easy getting away!
But as I stated in yesterday’s blog; connecting is really important. I don’t want to start filling the gap with needless things.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait until March to have a nice night together. One doesn’t have to ‘go away’ to plan a nice evening. However, between our schedules it could be tricky.
I swear life is about ducking and weaving a lot. Hopefully as we duck and weave, we don’t get hit between the eyes with a ball.
Happy Friday
