So, I got a new Iphone 5.  Yippee. I’m more excited that I’m away from AT&T because in our area, they are not a good carrier.

I went back and forth about the Iphone 5 vs. the 4s.  My husband said Siri was made for people like me, so I would have gotten that either way.  And though I like Apple; I get really tired of all their “Updates”.  If you aren’t updating your software every month (or so it seems) then you are behind.  I don’t know why they have so many updates.  When I turn on Itunes, I really just want to get my music and move on.

One time I went to update, and I kid you not, I lost ALL my music and playlists.  I had to have someone come over and find them for me.  Talk about alarming!

More often than not, when they offer an update, I tell them (in my mind) to pound sand!  I can’t be bothered.  If you were so good, you would have had it done the first time.

And though I’m okay with having the Iphone 5, I know that shortly they will come out with a newer and better version of their phone which will make my extremely large purchase something of the past!  I’m over it!

I need a phone….to call…and check my mail.

Yes, I use it for Facebook, but to be honest, my last phone was so bad, that I hardly bothered to check the internet.  So I’m currently trained to not care.

What is currently in question, is what to do with our old phones.  Well, as it turns out, since AT&T doesn’t have an exclusive contract with Apple, we can now use our phones for whatever we choose.  And as we paid a million dollars to obtain them; who do you think is standing first in line???

Two sweet little faces!

One would think it’s an automatic ‘give’.  But I beg to differ.

When Aspen’s friend got her Iphone (3), Aspen was really annoyed that her friends head disappeared into her phone all the time.  Like, SERIOUSLY annoyed!

Aspen IS in need of a new phone.  But I’m hesitant to just hand it over, because if history is correct, soon her head will be missing too!  It happened to me (ask my family).  It just happens.

As for Avery….she won’t get full use of the phone.  She has already had her phone taken away for misuse, I can only imagine where she will go with the luxury of the Iphone!

Once you give your kids access to the internet; you give them access to the world.  I really like my kids, I would like to keep them around a bit longer.  So, I’m going to say it gently, that I’m on the fence about this!  But I’m not stupid as to put my head in the sand.  So we will proceed with caution.

Once we make this decision, there is no turning back.  But the upside is, once they get addicted, it’s a nicer carrot to hold over their heads to get things done.

As of this morning, I have barely held my new phone.  As far as I’m concerned, it will do the same things my old one does, except this one will talk back to me.  Apparently now, I have to learn how to talk to ‘it’.

I’m very slow when it comes to technology.  I wish I were quicker, but it is what it is.   I’ll get there when I get there!

And the good thing is; I won’t drop any calls along the way!

Happy Friday!
