No wonder people are getting sick lately.  This weather is all over the place and it’s hard to adjust to 80 degrees one day and winter boots the next.  It’s crazy!

I spent a good portion of yesterday thinking it was Friday.  And now that Friday is here, I just want to stay in bed all day.  Why not?  I’m tired of running around and being busy all the time.

And though I say that, it has become the fabric of who I am.

I have a friend who is busy ALL THE TIME and I told her she needs to slow down and relax.  And she actually admitted to me that if she did, then she would be forced to look at herself and she’s not ready to do that.

Can you imagine????

Well; in truth, that is what most of us do.  I call it disguised avoidance.

How many of you think about improving yourself but just plain don’t have time?  Is it that you don’t ‘have’ time or you don’t ‘make’ time?

Most of us don’t make the time but disguise it or bury it in their busy-ness.

We make excuses day in and day out and live in our inability to get things done.

A while ago I had a conversation with Chris about his business trips.  He said, when he goes out he “HAS” to eat what the clients eating.  God forbid you go to a steak house and order a SALAD!!  You’d be ostracized (or so he implied).

Months later, he is now “Pescatarian” (Only eats fish as his meat source) and  is hell-bent on losing weight so he brought a bunch of bars with him to get him through his trips.

Suddenly, now that he has a goal, he makes things possible.  As a result he’s lost about 20lbs and is looking and feeling good.  I’m very proud of him.

But I made my point when I told him that he had the control all along but he made choices that suited his thoughts at the time.

We all do it.  We have control, but we give it up to everyone around us so we can avoid this or that.

If we slow down, we actually have to think or talk about it and who wants to do that?

I’d like to say I will have a slow weekend; or even a slow week, but I have a lot of sessions scheduled and this will fill my plate for the next month at least.    And then it will get quite slow.  Right after Christmas.

Life can change like the weather.  It’s important to be ready for it.  But remember; you have a choice!  Use it!

Happy Friday
