If you read the title first; then I’m sure I got your attention.  Because if you know me at all – you know that I don’t state my opinion.  And if you think you will read this and figure out who and what I am voting for; stop here.  It’s not going to happen.

Two things you aren’t supposed to discuss in ‘mixed company’…..Religion and Politics.  And those are the two things you won’t hear me speak much about.

Over the past few months, I have watched people get riled up over this issue and that measure or that proposition.  They speak so passionately, they forget they are screaming at cyberspace.  We all have opinions.  I was speaking with a friend who was surprised I haven’t raised any issues in regards to politics.  And the truth is; I will rarely issue a post that will get so heated when it comes to my political standing.  I watched my dad argue with my adopted grandfather, because dad was Republican, and Paul was a RIGHT WING BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!!

To be honest, I think my dad just liked to get riled up and judge others; which is just fine…..for him.  I’m glad he got a rise out of another human being for the sake of trying to prove that HE was right!!!  But the bottom line was; he never changed Pauls mind.  And to be honest, I think Paul enjoyed the debates and took them with a grain of salt, because he always came back for more!

But to think I have anything to say that will sway anothers vote, in my opinion, is a bit of an egotistical leap.   And I do my best to check my ego at the door (though it does tend to escape from time to time).

I believe what I believe.  And if I feel that my opinion is going to change what you believe, then chances are, I’m just going to frustrate myself and get nowhere fast.

All politicians are well-intentioned and poorly executed.  There is too much red tape and too many hands in the pot for anything to be done efficiently.  And for that reason alone, I will read my ballot; make my decision and walk away.

More often than not, my job is to just cancel out my husband.  Once I do that, my job is done.  He knows this, and I know this.

It keeps the peace in the house.

So if you wanted to hear me take a stand on an issue, I certainly will.  It will be about the issues in my home with my family and my pets.  I can control that better than I can control who will be president.

For many elections, I sat in my parents room watching them hold their breath over who would control the country.  Sometimes they were happy; other times; not so much.  But in the end; after the election was over, they went back to life as usual.  Any debates they had fell to the wayside.

If you are voting; I hope you get what you want.  If you are passionate about it, then it means something to you.  But if you were REALLY passionate about it; chances are your name would be on the ballot and you wouldn’t be reading this right now!
Happy Wednesday

  1. Ok got your blog early, so I can skip sleep and start my day…. But I love your last line…. I am reading this but I am also really passionate and would run for office if I could afford to. The time alone would require me to have a years savings. But I have a feeling one day I will. I wanted to start in the mission viejo city council. And I Think I will one day…
