So, yesterday started out in heart attack mode and ended in joyful bliss!!!  Never tap out unless you know it’s over!!!

If I would have gauged my day based on how it started out, I would have stayed in bed.  But thankfully, in the darkest moments, I had knights in shining armor come through and lift me up!!!  Angels, as it were!!!

Both of my computers crashed in one night.  And I have NO idea how!!!  Thankfully, my techie is my neighbor and he brought his coffee over and got me up and running.  For anyone who doesn’t have this as an option; I KNOW how blessed I am!!!

I’ve said it before; if you think you can get through this life without some sort of support network or group of friends, I say more power to you.  Yesterday was a testament to the amazing people who help lift me up and keep me strong!!!

In the midst of it all, I got to have a creative day as well.  I got to shoot a friend who let me get creative.  AND she let me post her pictures, which was awesome!!

I love what I do; but many times, family portraits are all similar.  When I get to challenge myself and try something really different; that is really exciting for me.    And the session was a complete success.  The fact that I can push myself a bit almost re-energizes me and gets me working good again.  This time of year is non-stop production.  A boudoir session is a bright spot in my day.

I have always had a fascination with clowns and masks.  I don’t know where the fascination stems from, but I have collected masks as long as I can remember.  I guess I like the mystery.

When I saw Burlesque (the movie) a year ago, my senses came alive.  I blogged about how the costumes and the makeup were exactly what I wanted to shoot.

Yesterday, when my client came, I pulled out all the stops.  I added a little more makeup to her already beautiful face, and I pulled out my masks and fan and hat.  And off we went!

I believe what we ended up with is art.  It is a beautiful display of a beautiful girl.  It was an awesome collaboration.

I edited a few just to see where I could go with them, but I have plenty more to look through and ‘create’.

But, first I have to go back to my recent sessions and get them finished.

My day ended with a new workspace.  I made a splurge and got a ‘real’ desk for myself.  For the past 5 years I have been working on a folding table and it felt very temporary and tacky.

My BFF was determined to make sure my new table actually made it into my office and so she came over while I was shooting and cleared out my office.  In no time, everything was out and enough space was made to start putting my desk together.  By dinner time I was sitting at my new desk eating my soup and checking email.

Now, I have this beautiful pub table that’s about 8 feet long, solid wood and it’s finally facing a part of the window where I can see the mountains when I work.  I’m perfectly giddy over it!!!

I have a LOT of boxes and old ‘stuff’ to get rid of.  But for now, my workspace is new and fresh and beautiful and I already feel super productive!!!

So, don’t tap out if your day starts off bad.  As long as you have a good support system around you, you are never alone and you have a chance to turn it around!!

I’m nothing without my friends!!!  Thank you Julie and Jake!  You both saved me and I love you!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!
